Lynwood Wood Flooring has been installing, sanding, refinishing and repairing wood floors in Lynwood, CA for more than twenty years. We do one trade and we do it properly: solid and engineered hardwood installation, refinishing and recoating, repairs to damaged and water-affected floors, and hardwood stairs.

Twenty years in the same housing stock means we know it. Our Approach

Everything starts with a measurement rather than an opinion. We establish the foundation type before quoting, because a crawl space and a slab support completely different floors. On concrete we take an in-situ relative humidity reading to the ASTM F2170 method and write the number down before material is ordered. We check wood moisture with both pin and pinless meters, set to the species going in rather than left on whatever the last job used, and we acclimate material in the room it will live in with the readings logged on arrival and again before the first board goes down.

The same principle applies to what we recommend. We assess the remaining wear layer before suggesting a refinish, so a floor with nothing left to sand does not get sanded, and we specify finishes from what is legally sold and applied in this air district, so a schedule never depends on a product that cannot be bought here.

Lead-safe work practices are standard on pre-1978 houses, which is most of the older stock around Lynwood. Stairs are quoted as their own scope, with treads, risers, nosings and skirting counted individually rather than folded into a square-foot rate.

Every quote separates material, labor and the add-ons that make two bids look different from each other — furniture moving, dust containment and per-board replacement.
